ROME — Former Auburn swimmer Kirsty Coventry placed eighth in the women’s 100m backstroke finals at the 2009 FINA World Championships. Former Tiger Mark Gangloff also swam on Day 3, advancing to the men’s 50m breaststroke finals as the eighth seed through semis.
