Auburn has picked up a commitment from the number three player in the state, LaDarius Owens! Owens was recently rated number 98 in the Rivals 100 until dropping out of the top 100 last week. LaDarius Owens is the number 3 player in the state of Alabama and the number 7 outside linebacker in the country.
Owens had offers from most colleges and chose the Tigers over Alabama, Tennessee and LSU, among others. Owens’ uncle, James, was Auburn’s first ever black scholarship player. He is Auburn’s 16th commitment for 2010 and tops off an amazing linebacker class that includes
Jake Holland,
Jawara White and
Jessel Curry.
Owens is a four star on Rivals and Scout, ranked the number 20 OLB by Scout. He is a four star and rated 80/100 by ESPN.com and in the ESPNU 150. He is rated the second best player in the state by the Birmingham News.
Owens reports a 2.8 GPA and a 20 on the ACT.
